It wasn't quite swan lake.
But brave firemen have been hailed for plunging into the water to save a stricken bird in the River Ayr.
The crew from Amber Watch answered the call when the swan got into a state of distress.
An inspector from the Scottish SPCA team was dispatched but, due to the difficulty of the terrain, was unable to access the bird in its state of peril.
Thankfully the firemen were able to step in and perform the much needed rescue, before carrying the swan out to safety in a sling.
Posting on their Facebook page, the Scottish SPCA said: "We’d like to say a big thank you to the crew from Amber Watch at Ayr Fire Station for assisting with a tricky swan rescue on the River Ayr on 7 May.
"Our inspector couldn’t safely access the river banks but the crew arrived quickly and were happy to help!"
