Reporting news of the incident on Twitter just before midnight, Dublin Fire Brigade warned the public of the potential additional dangers associated with waste fires.

Posting alongside a picture of a firefighter tackling the blaze in Swords, the brigade said: "Fires like these can contain hazards like aerosols which present a significant risk to anyone nearby."
