A small wildfire broke out in Grangemouth last night on what was the hottest day of the year so far.
Firefighters were called to an area of grass along the Grange Burn in Burnbank Road shortly after 7pm on Thursday July, 15.
The alarm was raised after smoke and flames were spotted rising from the burn embankment.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed to Falkirk Live, that one appliance was sent to extinguish the blaze.
Temperatures hit 25C in the town yesterday, for the first time this year.
And experts say we're in for a sunny and warm weekend - meaning the risk of wildfire rises.
