Firefighters are tackling a moorland fire in Saddleworth.
The blaze broke out on land above Pots and Pans near Alderman Hill in Greenfield shortly before 7.40pm tonight (Sunday).
Firefighters are currently working across four acres of land.
People are being urged to avoid the area to ensure emergency service vehicles can access the site.
GMP Saddleworth and Lees, posting on Facebook, said: "Police and Fire crews are currently at a wildfire above Pots and Pans.
"We are already getting people arriving to “Have a look” please stay away from the area and narrow lanes so that the emergency services can get access and deal with this incident."
The fire service urged nearby residents to keep windows and doors shut.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 7.40pm to a moorland fire near Greenfield in Oldham.
"Fire engines from Oldham, Stalybridge and other specialist vehicles attended a fire involving four acres of moorland."
Firefighters are using beaters to douse the flames.
The fire is understood to be under control.
Last month fire crews battled six moor fires in and around Greater Manchester.
Blazes broke out in the land between Diggle, Denshaw and Delph, near Saddleworth, Marsden Moor in West Yorkshire, Tintwistle in Derbyshire, Uppermill in Oldham and in Shaw Moor, Stalybridge.
Firefighters worked through the night to stop the flames spreading to houses.
It then emerged that people had been setting off FIREWORKS on the moors.
Firefighters found three discarded fireworks among the scorched grass.
They included a 'Bad Boy Megaton Bomb', which is described on the manufacturer's website as having 'huge explosive force' designed to 'create maximum destruction in the heavens above'.
