Firefighters tackle massive fire at Scots recycling yard as smoke fills sky over Perth

Firefighters are battling a blaze at a Scots recycling facility.

Four engines have rushed to tackle the flames that have broken out at Shore Recycling electrical waste facility on Shore Road in Perth.

The service was called at around 3.20pm today as the fire broke out.

It is understood there have not been any injuries.

Dramatic pictures from the scene today show huge towers of grey smoke entering the Perthshire sky as what appears to be electrical equipment burns in orange flames.

Firefighters can be seen in the images tackling the fire with jets of water.

The facility lies near to the main road past Perth giving passing drivers a dramatic view of the blaze unfolding.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 3.19pm and there are four pumps in attendance.

"It is an external fire in an outdoors area, there are no reports of (injuries) or anything like that."
