Firefighters tackle late-night car blaze in Knightswood

A video shows the moment firefighters tackled a late-night car blaze in Knightswood.

The car was torched at around 12:30am this morning outside a home on Archerhill Terrace.

No one was injured as a result of the fire but it is believed to have been started deliberately.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 12.30am on Monday, 9 March, 2020 emergency services were called to a report of a car on fire on Archerhill Terrace, Glasgow.

"No-one was injured as a result of the fire. Police are treating the incident as wilful and enquiries are ongoing."

Scottish Fire and Rescue confirm they sent one appliance to the incident and that crews ensured the area was safe before they left.

Glasgow Live told how a series of deliberate fires were started in the east end on the morning of Thursday, March 5.

Another late-night blaze destroyed four cars in Eaglesham on Wednesday, March 4.
