Firefighters tackle huge blaze for more than 12 hours at Perthshire farm

Firefighters have tackled a major fire at a Perthshire farm for more than 12 hours.

The huge blaze broke out at around 7.50pm at a shed in Blackford on Sunday, September 15.

Around six and a number of specialist resources were deployed to the scene as the flames continued to engulf the Perthshire countryside.

One crew has remained in the area more than 12 hours later.

Fire broke out at the building at around 7.50pm last night (Scottish Fire and Rescue)

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that no one was injured in the blaze.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “We were alerted to reports of a large fire that had taken hold of a agricultural shed at a farm in Blackford at 7.53pm on Sunday, September 15.

“Six appliances and a number of specialists resources were deployed to the incident.

Around six fire crews were deployed to tackle the flames (Scottish Fire and Rescue)

“There were no reported casualties in the fire.

“One crew remains in the area.”
