Firefighters tackle car ablaze on petrol station forecourt

Firefighters had to put out a vehicle fire in a petrol station forecourt.

The incident happened at the Texaco petrol station in Watnall Road on Thursday, August 13, at 10.57am.

A fire crew from Hucknall station arrived at the scene and worked to ensure the fire was under control.

Pictures circulated across social media show a raging fire across the front of a black car spreading across the windscreen and roof of the vehicle.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 10.57am and a Hucknall crew attended.

"The fire is now all out and involved one car. We used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and small tools as well as a positive pressure ventilation fan for smoke clearence.

"There was no reports of any injuries."

The fire service do not know how the fire was caused but an investigation is underway.
