The fire broke out on Parnie Street in the Trongate area of Glasgow at around 1.30am this morning.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) rushed to the scene where they fought the blaze, which occurred on the second floor of the three storey building.

It is not currently known whether anyone was injured in the incident.

The fire has been extinguished but one appliance is still at the scene following the incident to ensure the area is safe.

A SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 1.35am on Friday, December 27 to reports of a dwelling fire on Parnie Street, Glasgow.

"Three fire appliances and one aerial appliance were mobilised to the scene where crews extinguished a fire on the second floor within a three storey building.

"One appliance remains in attendance."
