Pictures have captured the damage caused by a garden fire in Whitchuch believed to have started deliberately.

Fire crews from Bedminster and Temple were called to the blaze in Woodmarsh Close late last night (July 8).

The shed fire spread to fence panels, a greenhouse and garden furniture before it was extinguished by firefighters.

Pictures taken at the scene show the extensive damage caused to the garden following the blaze.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue confirmed the cause is thought to be deliberate.

"At 11.45pm, two crews from Bedminster and one from Temple fire station were called to a fire on Woodmarsh Close in Whitchurch involving a shed, greenhouse, fence panels and pieces of garden furniture," the spokesperson said.

"On arrival, firefighters used two high-pressure hose reels and one 45mm jet to extinguish the fire.

"The cause is thought to be deliberate and firefighters remained on scene to provide fire safety advice."

Temple fire station added on Twitter: "Blue Watch are done for the tour, all handed over to, Green Watch for the next four days.
