Firefighters spend over four hours bringing recycling centre blaze under control

Firefighters spent over four hours at a fire in Perth on Wednesday.

Flames were seen at the Shore Recycling Facility shortly after 3pm on April 14.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called and four appliances were sent to bring the blaze under control.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told the Perthshire Advertiser: “We were alerted at 3.19pm on Wednesday, April 14 to reports of a fire at Shore Recycling Facility, Perth.

“Operations control mobilised four appliances to the scene and firefighters extinguished the fire.

“There were no reported casualties.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
