Firefighters rushed to blaze near Glasgow Green after a parked car went up in flames.
The fire, which reportedly occurred within an NPC car park on King Street, was reported at about 9.30pm on Saturday night.
The incident happened a mile away from the TRNSMT music festival, where up to 50,000 people were in attendance.
Eyewitness Connor Peat told Glasgow Live he saw a "big fiery blaze" at around 9:40pm from his window last night.
"My first thought was that it was just someone who started a bonfire in an empty parking space, but upon closer inspection i noticed that it was actually a car that had been set alight," he said.
"By the time the police showed up, the car had been extinguished. At around 11pm the car was towed away. As of Sunday afternoon, there is still burned scrap and rubble in the parking space, and a fiery smell still lingers."
The Daily Record reported that a fire engine rushed to the car park to put out the blaze that tore through the stationary vehicle.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that they were at the scene but have since left the area after dousing the fire.
There are currently no reports of any injuries in association with the blaze.
Police were also called to the scene, but it is said the fire is not being treated as wilful.
A video from the scene shows the crew arriving and quickly beginning to put out the flames, which had begun sending plumes of smoke into the air.
A spokesperson for the SFRS said: “We received a call to reports of a car on fire in King Street at around 9.31pm.
“One appliance was mobilised to the scene where they extinguished the flames. We are no longer in attendance.”
The cause of the fire is not currently known.
