Brave firefighters saved a person from their burning home in a dramatic rescue effort tonight.
Fire crews were called out in St Helens after flames took hold of a home on Loughrigg Avenue.
One resident was pulled from the blaze and taken to hospital by paramedics.

Emergency services were called to the terraced street following reports of a house fire at around 8pm.
Three crews were dispatched to the scene, where they found a home engulfed in flames after a fire had begun in the kitchen of the property.
Four firefighters wearing specialist breathing equipment entered the home to search for the occupant after neighbours confirmed someone was inside.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters worked extremely hard to quickly extinguish the fire and search the property for persons reported.
"The resident was rescued from a first floor bedroom and brought out of the property into the care of paramedics from North West Ambulance Service. The casualty was then conveyed to hospital."
Following the rescue operation, Group Manager Mark Thomas added: “I would like to commend the rapid actions of fire crews that attended the incident on Loughrigg Avenue, St. Helens.
"The courage, integrity, and compassion shown by firefighters to extinguish the fire, search for the occupant and rescue the casualty from the property is a credit to Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service."
