Firefighters rescue driver trapped in a CRANE after crash on M62 near Leeds

Fire crews were called to rescue a person trapped in a crane after a crash with a car on the M62 near Leeds.

The incident happened on the eastbound carriageway between junction 28 and 29 just after 3am in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

The person was taken to hospital.

In a statement providing full details on the incident, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said:

"Road traffic collision involving a car and a crane. One person trapped in crane, extrication carried out by fire service personnel and transported to hospital.

"Hunslet attended along with the technical rescue unit from Cleckheaton."
