Firefighters race to scene of blaze at Dunfermline flat as one person injured

Fire crews raced to the scene of a blaze at a flat in Dunfermline.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at the ground floor flat on Leys Park Road at around 6 pm on Sunday evening after reports of a fire.

A picture shared by Fife Jammer s on Facebook shows the large emergency services response on scene.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesperson confirmed that three appliances were dispatched with firefighters able to extinguish the blaze.

They added that one person was injured in the fire.

The SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.12 pm on Sunday, June 6 to reports of a fire within a ground floor flat in Leys Park Road Dunfermline.

"Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene, and firefighters extinguished the fire.

"One casualty was handed into the care of paramedics, crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe."
