Firefighters on duty on Bonfire Night have just been attacked AGAIN by yobs with fireworks

Firefighters on duty have been attacked with fireworks AGAIN tonight.

Crews were targeted by yobs on Bolton Street in Oldham after earlier being attacked at around 7.15pm.

The latest attack came as they were trying to put out a fire in some charity bins.

A group of young people began launching fireworks at them.

In a tweet, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "You won't believe it... Our crews have been attacked again.

"Crews attended an incident on Bolton St, Oldham.

"This time, charity bins had been set on fire.

"A group of young people then began launching fireworks at our firefighters as they tried to put it out."

Earlier this evening, a group of around 20 youngsters launched explosives at firefighters who were on duty.

Fire chiefs say 'attacks like these are completely unacceptable'.

The fire service have had 80 calls since 7pm and 65 are small bonfire-related fires.

Crews have attended at 32 incidents.

A number of incidents have involved wheelie bins being set on fire. Two bins were set on fire on Everside Close in Worsley and a bin was also set on fire by the library in Victoria Street in Denton.

There have also been a number of reports on social media of groups throwing fireworks at cars and people.

Gorton residents reported a 'group of teenagers throwing fireworks' on Knutsford Road.

'Errant' fireworks were also thrown down Stockport Road in Levenshulme, it was reported.

Youths were also spotted throwing fireworks at cars and in gardens near Cole Street in Moston.

In Harpurhey, shoppers had to 'flee for their lives' as a group of yobs threw fireworks at each other in Asda car park .

Footage of the incident shows the group launching the explosives at cars.
