Firefighters' stark warning after person rescued from house fire in Dublin

Firefighters have given a warning after a person was rescued from a house fire in Dublin.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze in Phibsborough on Tuesday afternoon.

The person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by paramedics.

A spokesperson for Dublin Fire Brigade has issued tips on what to do if you're trapped in a house fire.

They said on Twitter: "If you find yourself trapped in your home because of fire or smoke make your way to a room, close the door and put a towel or sheet (preferably damp) at the bottom of the door to block the gap.

"Make sure we know where you are. Shout out the window or tell us on 999."
