Firefighters free woman from car stuck in ditch after two-vehicle crash

A woman was freed from a car that rolled down a ditch after the vehicle flew off the road during a crash.

Firefighters, paramedics and police all attended the two-vehicle collision on Moor Road, near Yatton, at 9:50am today (September 9).

A woman and man were taken to hospital following the smash, and a road closure was in place.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "Upon arrival firefighters found a RTC involving two cars.

"One male had self rescued and crews rescued a female casualty. They used small gear and a ladder.

Paramedics, police and firefighters were at the scene (Clevedon Fire Station, @AFRSClevedon)

"The road was closed while this was happening.

"Both casualties were conveyed to hospital."

A spokesperson from Clevedon Fire Station said it was a 'great multi-agency response'.
