Firefighters free boy from cardboard tube in Redfield

A boy in Redfield had to be cut free from a large cardboard tube which was stuck around his legs.

Firefighters were called to help the boy, who has not been named, at around 3:45pm today (July 15).

Crews from Temple Fire Station used a large amount of water to weaken the tube before using special scissors.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival, one appliance found a child with a substantial amount of cardboard around his leg.

"They soaked the cardboard and then got scissors from the first aid kit to cut the cardboard away,"

The boy suffered no injuries during the incident.
