Firefighters entered a burning car wash after flames and smoke erupted from the building.
Emergency services were called to the scene, on Lodge Lane in Toxteth , shortly after 8pm on Wednesday night.
Firefighters arrived just a few minutes later to find the car park, close to the junction of Beaumont Street, engulfed in the blaze.
A number of fire service members entered the building wearing specialist equipment in order to bring the fire under control in less than ten minutes.
Using multiple high pressure hose reels, firefighters tackled the fire in two teams and managed to extinguish it shortly after 8.30pm.
Merseyside Police also helped at the scene in order to manage traffic around the fire engines.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue said: "Fire crews were called to a fire at a car wash on Lodge Lane in Toxteth this evening. Crews were alerted at 8.12pm and on scene at 8.17pm.
"Four fire engines are in attendance.
"Crews arrived to find a car wash and the building at the site well alight.
"Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus fought the fire in two teams of two with High Pressure Hose Reels and the fire was extinguished by 8.35pm.
"Crews are damping down the area and will be able to leave the area shortly.
"There has been some traffic disruption and police are managing traffic flow. Avoid the area if possible."
