Firefighters called to house fire in Perth city centre

Emergency services descended on Perth city centre this afternoon after a house fire broke out.

Firefighters tackled the blaze in Scott Street, which took place just before 4pm on Wednesday, March 3.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has said the fire has since been extinguished and the area is now safe.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “We were alerted at 3.58pm on Wednesday, March 3 to reports of a small fire within a property on Scott Street in Perth.

“Operations control mobilised firefighters to the scene who extinguished the fire by removing it from the property.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was safe.”
