Firefighters called to help two children trapped inside car outside a Tesco supermarket

Firefighters were called to help free two children trapped in a car at a Tesco supermarket.

The youngsters were "locked" inside the vehicle, which was parked up outside of the store.

A fire crew from Stockton, County Durham, spent almost half an hour at the scene on December 20 attempting to free the kids, as reported by Teesside Live.

Eventually the crew, which was called at 11.29am, rescued the children and made the "vehicle safe".

Teesside Live approached the brigade for a further comment about the ordeal. It is not known how young the two children were.

It was one of at least two incidents that firefighters at Stockton station dealt with yesterday morning.

Just over an hour earlier, they were needed to prize a ring from a member of the public's finger - after they ventured into the station for help after it got stuck.
