Firefighters called to car found engulfed in flames in Pollokshields street

Emergency services rushed to a street in Pollokshields early this morning after reports of a car on fire.

Police and Fire raced to the silver car on Barrland Street at 3.50am.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised one fire engine.

Firefighters left the scene an hour and a half later.

It is unclear at this point whether the fire was willful, but officers have launched an investigation and say enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to Barrland Street, Glasgow around 4am on Saturday 27 March 2021 to reports of a car on fire.
