Firefighters called to blaze at Southport Pleasureland

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spent five hours at a popular Merseyside theme park after a fire broke out on its grounds.

Fire engines were called to Southport Pleasureland on Monday, October 17 shortly before 2pm. On arrival, crews found a large quantity of timber and waste involved in the fire out in the open.

Firefighters used an onsite staff digger to remove timber so they could access and extinguish the fire. Firefighting continued throughout the afternoon before leaving the scene at 7.14pm and no buildings were damaged in the fire.
