Firefighters called out to Bathgate

Firefighters were called to tackle a blaze at a property in Bathgate last night.

Local residents reported the fire may have started in a car showroom close to a bingo hall in the town.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 7.08pm on Tuesday, July 23 to reports of a fire within a single-storey industrial building at King Street, Bathgate.

“Operations Control mobilised two fire engines to the scene, where crews extinguished the fire. There were no reported casualties. Crews left at 8.58pm.”
