Firefighters called as couple treated for mixing cleaning products at home

Two people were checked over by paramedics after inhaling fumes from cleaning chemicals they had mixed at their home near Bristol.

Fire crews from Hicks Gate and Bedminster, plus the Avon Fire and Rescue Service environmental response unit, were called to a property on Bridgwater Road, Dundry just before 11pm last night.

The property had to be ventilated by emergency crews after people living there had mixed two cleaning products together and had started to suffer breathing difficulties.

The two occupants were checked over by paramedics.

A spokesman for fire the fire service said: “This highlights the importance of ensuring cleaning products are never mixed and to be vigilant when using cleaning products around the home.”

In other news protesters have been marching in Bristol and emitting smoke bombs as part of a cause to highlight veganism.

Meanwhile a Boots has remained closed all day after a car ploughed through the door in the early hours.
