Firefighters 'boot in door' of flat after reports of blaze

Fire crews rushed to Liverpool city centre this morning, to reports of a fire.

Emergency services attended the scene on Leather Lane, off Dale Street, in Liverpool city centre.

A witness said they saw firefighters 'boot the door in' to gain access to the third floor of the building.

Another witness, told the ECHO: "Two fire engines have gone down Dale Street with the lights on. Another with lights and sirens flew down Old Hall street."

Once inside, fire crews put out a fire involving a heater in a flat.

It is believed that all persons were accounted for and no injuries were reported in the fire.

A M erseyside fire and rescue service spokesperson said: "Crews alerted at 9.14am and on scene at 9.19am. It was a small fire involving a heater in a flat on the third floor.

"All persons accounted for and no injuries. The fire was extinguished and crews left the scene at 9.43am."
