Firefighters extinguish house fire in Spence

Firefighters have extinguished a house fire on Crofts Crescent in Spence.

The fire was reported to emergency services at 7.12am, and put out by 9.30am.

An Emergency Services Agency spokesperson said in a statement no injuries had been reported.

"The residents were not home at the time of the fire. Firefighters have now departed the scene and the home has been handed back to the owners," it said in a statement.

"The fire was contained to the room of origin. Crofts Crescent has since been reopened."
