Firefighters battle late night blaze at Glasgow secondary school

Fire fighters battled a blaze at a Scots secondary school last night.

Emergency services were called to a fire on Cambuslang Road, Glasgow, around 11pm last night after the ground behind Parkhill Secondary School went up in flames.

Two fire engines raced to the incident on Friday evening as photographs captured the raging inferno.

One eyewitness said crews managed to get the fire under control and out "really quickly".

The extent of damage caused by the blaze is not yet known.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were in attendance at a fire on Cambuslang Road in Glasgow last night.

"We received a call at 11.04pm and the last appliance left at 11.37pm.

"We had two appliances in attendance."
