Firefighters attend car blaze off North Circular Road

Dublin firefighters from Dolphin's Barn Fire Station were sent to a vehicle fire tonight (Saturday, March 19) off the North Circular Road. The blaze had firmly taken hold by the time they arrived.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus were forced to use a high-pressure hose reel which delivers 240 litres of water per minute to get the fire under control and make the area safe. Vehicle fires continue to be an issue around the Dublin area and can pose a threat to the public due to their close proximity to households.

Dublin Fire Brigade posted a tweet and a dramatic picture of the incident at 10.03pm tonight. It showed a firefighter tackling the blaze at its height.
