Firebug vandals torch flags and rakes at Kilmarnock golf course

Mindless vandals stole golf flags and rakes before torching them last week.

Police have now launched an investigation after hundreds of pounds of damage was caused during the raid at Caprington Golf Course in Kilmarnock.

It’s believed that the perpetrators struck some time between 7pm on Friday, September 27 and 6.30am on Saturday, September 28.

A number of golf flags and rakes were stolen before being set on fire and those responsible made off, causing a three-figure sum of damage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC McPike with the crime reference number of 1276 of September 29.
