Firebug torches front door and is being hunted by police

The front door of a Paisley house was deliberately set ablaze on Saturday night.

It happened in Ferguslie Walk around 11pm.

Detectives probing the incident said "thankfully" nobody was hurt.

They are carrying out door-to-door enquiries and scanning CCTV on the hunt for the firebug.

Paisley CID are appealing for a name for the culprit and said the home was "deliberately set on fire."

The area is thought to have been quiet at the time.

Detective Constable Gary Bruce said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this reckless act.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed anything suspicious, or who has information that may assist us to get in touch.”
