A firebomb attack on a house is the latest incident in a bloody gang feud in an Irish town.
The attack in the Rathmullen area of Drogheda, Co Louth happened at 1.30am this morning.
The building suffered significant damage but no one was injured in the incident as gardai and fire service personnel rushed to the scene.
The area was cordoned off for a technical examination as detectives carried out house to house enquiries.
A source said: "This is strongly suspected to be an incident linked to the on going Drogheda feud."
Rathmullen has been scene to a number of incidents with shootings and other petrol bomb attacks in the area.
A car was burned out in the Rathmullen area after a horror gun attack at a house in the Hardmans Gardens area of the town in May.
A man was injured when gunman sprayed a house with bullets.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí attended an incident of criminal damage by fire at a house in Rathmullen Park, Drogheda which occurred at approx. 1.30am on 26th June 2019.
"The house was damaged in the incident, no injuries were sustained."
This week Chief Superintendent Christy Mangan, who is leading the fight against the feud, said a specific operation is in place to confront the waring gangs.
He explained: "The current criminal dispute is a definite focus and we have a strong resource based operation in place to pro-actively target persons involved.
"The priority is always the community and ensuring that we provide the service they deserve and expect.
"Victims within the community are a priority and this makes the drugs issue a key focus within the policing environment in Drogheda."
