Fireball on Glasgow street as car torched in residential neighbourhood

An investigation has been launched after a car was torched on Glasgow street in the dead of night.

The vehicle as engulfed in flames outside homes in the residential area of Tollcross at midnight.

The blaze was brought under control by firefighters, and fortunately no one was injured, the Daily Record reports.

Police confirmed they are treating the blaze as suspicious.

A spokesman said: "We were made aware of a car on fire at Ard Street in Glasgow around 12.05am on Friday, December 31.

"The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured.

"The incident is being treated as deliberate and enquiries are ongoing."
