Firearms warrant sparks major police presence in Salford

A firearms warrant sparked a major police presence in Salford.

Police carried out a huge search on Lumns Lane in Swinton on Tuesday (July 28).

Officers remained in the area for most of the day.

The search was eventually concluded at around 7.30pm. No arrests or seizures were made, according to GMP.

Several response vehicles, including specialist search units and tactical aid units, were photographed at the scene yesterday.

Police have not revealed the reason behind the search.

A spokesman for GMP said: “At around 4pm yesterday (27 July) police executed firearms warrant at Lumns Lane, Swinton.

“A search of the area concluded at 7.30pm. No arrests or seizures were made."
