Firearms handed over after 'dispute' in Nottinghamshire village

Police were called to a property in a Nottinghamshire village following reports of a dispute. The occupant of the property, a firearms licence holder, has handed over their firearms while officers look into the incident.

There were no firearms involved in the incident, Nottinghamshire Police confirmed. Officers were called to an address in Conery Lane, Whatton in the Vale, at around 9.20am on December 21.

A van reportedly received minor damage during the incident, the force said. An investigation was launched to establish what happened.

Enquiries are still ongoing with police asking for people who may have information about the incident to come forward. Sergeant Ryan Rowe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Officers were called to an address in Conery Lane, Whatton in the Vale, at around 9.20am on December 21, 2022, following reports of a dispute.

"A van reportedly sustained minor damage during the incident, with an investigation then being launched to establish what happened. These enquiries are still ongoing, so we'd ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact the police on 101, quoting incident 123 of 21 December 2022."
