Fireable NFL coach rankings, November edition: Who’s worse, Matt Nagy or Urban Meyer?

The axe has already fallen on one NFL head coach this season. Jon Gruden resigned as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, though it wasn’t due to any on-field disappointments (even if there were many). Gruden’s ouster was the product of email leaks from a league investigation into the Washington Football Team that uncovered years of misogynistic, racist, and homophobic language.

Gruden’s downfall saved some of his colleagues from becoming the first coach deposed in 2021. Unfortunately for them, his departure was merely a stay of execution for struggling teams. Several other sideline generals are firmly on the hot seat this fall, from rookie play callers to relative veterans.

Last time we looked at this year’s most fireable head coaches, Urban Meyer and Matt Nagy topped the list. They’re still mainstays thanks to five wins between them, but they’re joined by a couple fresh faces at the regular season’s halfway point. Let’s see who else has been unforgivably bad at their jobs this autumn.
