The shocking fire bomb attack on Peter Lawwell’s home caused extensive damage to his property but it could have been much worse.
Photographs in today’s Record show the charred remains of cars and burnt out rooms above a garage.
The images are chilling but it is clear this vile attack could have also had tragic consequences.
The Celtic chief executive was at home with his family at the time.
It is believed Lawwell’s daughter and her four-month-old baby were asleep in a room above the garage.
Thankfully, no one was physically harmed but it was clearly a terrifying ordeal.
It appears the perpetrator intended to inflict maximum damage to Lawwell’s home.
They acted with no thought for the welfare of anyone and only for their own twisted reasons.

Lawwell’s time at Celtic has been hugely successful despite the onfield disappointment this season.
He has deservedly reaped the rewards for leading one of European football’s biggest clubs.
He has earned the plaudits but in such a fickle business as football, there is often a downside.
When things go wrong, personal attacks on social media can hurt the highest achievers and their families.

The pressure must take its toll.
But what happened at Lawwell’s home in the early hours of yesterday is on a different level entirely.
The Lawwells’ lives were endangered by a mindless thug whose motivation is not yet known.
What we do know is, whoever was behind this despicable act must be brought to justice.
Pressure is on
Nicola Sturgeon’s latest Cabinet looks awfully similar to the last one.
A couple of big names may have retired but power rests largely around the same core group of senior Nationalists.
They may have new job titles and different portfolios but the challenges remain the same.
Humza Yousaf takes charge of health and Shirley-Anne Somerville will lead on education.
These two briefs will be the most highly scrutinised roles in the Cabinet, after Sturgeon’s, and they are vital to the national recovery – because Scotland can’t afford the failings of the past.
No one could have predicted the impact coronavirus would have around the world.
But at the same time, the Scottish Government hasn’t always handled Covid’s toll on schools and hospitals as well as it could have.
Scots want a clear path out of lockdown and back to economic recovery.
Let’s hope this Cabinet delivers one.
