Fire service releases image as person cut out of car after crash in Newark

Dramatic pictures show the aftermath of a crash which led to one person being hospitalised.

The collision took place on Broadgate Lane in Newark at around 8pm on Tuesday, July 20.

Fire crews and EMAS were called to the scene with one person being extracted from the car using hydraulic equipment.

Images taken from the roadside show the damage done to the vehicle.

The public have been issued a warning that, despite the good weather, roads can still be dangerous.

A spokesperson for Southwell Fire Station said: "Southwell crew along with Newark fire crews attended a road traffic collision.

"One casualty under the care of the East Midlands Ambulance Service was extracted from the vehicle using our hydraulic equipment and transported to hospital.

"Even with this exceptional weather the roads can still be dangerous. Please take extra care of your journeys and get home safe."
