Fire service issues statement as blaze closes Maid Marian Way

A fire at a business property in a busy city centre location partially closed a main road. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was called to an incident at a business premises in Maid Marian Way at 12.01pm, on Thursday, May 25.

Three Nottinghamshire crews from London Road, West Bridgford and Stockhill were called to tackle the blaze, near Maid Marian Way's junction with Friar Lane. The fire service confirmed the fire is now out, but an emergency service presence remains at the scene.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: "We received a call at 12.01 this afternoon to a business premises. We had three fire engines there, London Road, West Bridgford and Stockhill. London Road and West Bridgford remain in attendance.

"The fire is out but they are still investigating some of the other buildings connected. They are still on the scene. Everyone has been account."

Once the investigation has concluded, the premises will be handed back over to its owners.
