Fire service issues statement after house blaze in Top Valley

Firefighters were called to a blaze in the roof of a home in Nottingham. The fire started at an address in Freemantle Walk, Top Valley, at around 12.45pm on Monday, April 4. Two fire engines, from Stockhill and Hucknall, attended the scene and extinguished the blaze by 1.23pm using a hose reel jet with breathing apparatus. No-one was hurt in the fire.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a call to a house fire in Top Valley on Monday 4 March at 12.45pm. Crews from Stockhill and Hucknall responded.

The fire was in the roof space and crews used a hose reel jet with breathing apparatus (BA) to extinguish the fire. There were no casualties." People living near the incident had spoken of seeing smoke billowing from the roof and praised the actions of firefighters.
