The fire service has confirmed the cause of an "explosion" that was heard across Wirral.
People reported hearing a "huge bang" that "shook their houses" near to Upton Park in Moreton on Monday, May 29. The noise, which happened at around 9:15pm, was heard in areas including Leasowe, Greasby, Hoylake and Bidston.
Dozens of people took to Facebook to question what the noise could have been. One said: "Loads of police in Upton Park looking round and fire engines looking into the woods."

One woman said the noise was so loud it upset her children, while another said it made them "jump out their skin".
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service has now confirmed crews found the remains of a small oxygen cylinder in a fire. It came after they were called to reports of an explosion near Fender View Road, Moreton, last night.
Crews were alerted at 9.20pm and on scene at 9.24pm. A fire service spokesperson said: "After some assistance from a member of the public in locating the fire, crews found a fire around ten square metres in size with the remains of a small oxygen cylinder within.
"Crews used a hose reel to extinguish the fire, which was a significant distance from surrounding buildings. Merseyside Police were also present at the scene. Fire crews left the scene at 10.57pm."
