The fire service was called to the city centre on Friday morning to a fire in a lighting unit at a commercial property.
Crews from Moss Side and Salford were called to Lloyd Street and spent just under an hour at the scene.
A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “On Friday, 11 December, at 8.37am, firefighters were called to a fire on Lloyd Street in Manchester.
“Three fire engines from Moss Side and Salford quickly attended the scene.
"The fire involved an electrical lighting unit in a commercial property.
“Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, four dry powder extinguishers and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
“Fire crews were at the scene for 50 minutes.”
