Fire rips through house near Falkirk as emergency crews lock down road

A fire has ripped through a house in the Falkirk area with emergency services locking down a busy road.

Fire and rescue crews were called to the scene of the blaze, on Bellsdyke Road in Larbert, just before 7am on Friday.

No-one is believed to have been injured, and emergency teams remain in attendance.

Bellsdyke Road, from South Bellsdyke Roundabout towards Larbert, is currently closed while crews battled the flames.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergency services are currently in attendance at a house fire in the Bellsdyke Road area of Larbert.

"The incident was reported around 6.45am today (Friday, 17 September) and there are not believed to be any injuries.

"The junction onto Bellsdyke Road, from South Bellsdyke Roundabout towards Larbert, is currently closed."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.27am on Friday, September 17 to reports of a dwelling fire at Bellsdyke Road, Larbert.

"Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a two-storey detached property.

"No casualties were reported and one appliance remains in attendance to dampen down hotspots."
