Fire rips through Eddie Rockets restaurant in Dublin city centre

A blaze ripped through a restaurant in Dublin city centre this evening.

The Eddie Rockets restaurant on Dame Street has been destroyed following the fire. A total of five fire engines from Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene.

Traffic restrictions are currently in place as the crew work to make the scene safe. A DFB spokesperson said: "Firefighters have been called to a fire in a restaurant on Dame Street this evening. Five fire engines attended the incident and traffic restrictions are in place."

The road is blocked inbound and traffic is being directed by gardai. Motorists have been asked to take an alternative route as there is no access to Lord Edward St/Dame St Inbound from Christchurch/Winetavern St junction.
