Fire rips through coach carrying holidaymakers from Skegness after toilet misuse

A coach full of holidaymakers burst into flames on a major road - after someone tried to get rid of "smoking materials" in the toilet.

The vehicle was carrying more than 50 tourists on their way back from Skegness when a fire started on the A617 in Newark.

Emergency services raced to the scene at around 7:10pm on Saturday and put out the blaze.

All 54 people onboard escaped without serious injury, NottinghamshireLive reports.

Images show the flames ripping through the vehicle, with thick black smoke billowing high into the air.

Fire crews from four nearby areas were called, and managed to safely help all the passengers off the coach.
