Fire rips through Aberdeen fast food joint

A fire has ripped through a fast food joint in Abderdeen.

Shocking images show fire crews tackling the blaze at Byron Square in the Northfield area of the city on Monday afternoon.

The massive is fire is believed to have started at Byron Fast Foods.

Locals were spotted watching on as flamed engulfed the building.

It is unknown is there any injuries as a result of blaze.

Byron Square is home to a number of other local businesses including a bakery and pharmacy.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.

The Daily Record has contacted the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service for comment.

Earlier we told how a 91-year-old woman has died after a fire ripped through a house in Moray.

The blaze broke out inside the property on Clark Street in Hopeman on the outskirts of Elgin on Sunday afternoon, June 7.

Nine fire engines raced to the scene to tackle the massive fire after the alarm was raised at around 4.20pm.

Crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service didn't stand down until just before 1am on Monday morning.
