Fire rages at Leeds apartment near Granary Wharf as 'terrifying' pictures show balcony in flames

Firefighters have been battling to put out a fire at a high-storey tower in Leeds this evening with dramatic pictures showing a balcony in flames.

The blaze was at a flat in a block called Blue in Little Neville Street, near Granary Wharf, with fire crews having to use aerial appliances to get to the fire.

One person who posted an image of the fire said: "Fire in a Leeds flat this evening - everyone is reportedly safe and well. This is terrifying."

Another said: "Balcony fire in central Leeds. Looks like everyone's safe luckily."

Leeds Cladding Scandal also tweeted: "We are saddened to see a serious fire in Leeds this evening. We understand all those in Blue, Leeds got out safely."
