The Olympic flame arrived in Iwate Prefecture, one of the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, for the "Fire of Revival" exhibition on Sunday.
The lantern that holds the flame traveled to Kamaishi Station from Miyako Station via Sanriku Railway Co.'s special train. To protect the flame while the train was in motion, the lantern was fixed in place to prevent it from falling over.
As the train was traveling along the coast, reconstruction efforts could be seen from the window.
The exhibition is scheduled to arrive in Fukushima Prefecture on Tuesday.
