Suspicious fire in three-storey apartment building in Gungahlin

Police are investigating a fire in a three-storey unit complex in Gungahlin on Friday morning.

The ACT Emergency Services Agency said firefighters, ambulance intensive care paramedics and police were called to the fire in Emerald Way, Amaroo, about 7.30am. The fire was out by 9.15am.

"The cause of the fire is currently under investigation," the agency said in a statement.

It said people in the unit had been treated for smoke inhalation but released.

The scene had been handed to police.
